Belize Maya Mountains

Located along the Caribbean Sea, Belize is full of breathtaking things to explore, including 400 cayes along the coastline and the majestic Maya Mountains.   The Maya Mountains are a mountain range in Belize and eastern Guatemala. The tallest mountain is Doyle's Delight at 3,688 ft (1,124 m.) The Maya Mountains and associated foothills contain a number of important Mayan ruins including the sites of Lubaantun, Nim Li Punit, Cahal Pech and Chaa Creek; the most eminent nature reserve within the range is the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary.  Spending nights at a Belize jungle lodge on the Maya Mountains is perfect for travelers looking to learn more about Belize history and local culture.

Belize also offers rain forests, savannas and lush green interiors filled with plant and animal life, with a large variety of orchids and birds. And don't forget the Mayan ruins that dot the landscape, from the smaller burial mounds to the large ruins of Caracol, these are worth a visit.
